KSI Draws With Logan Paul But Wins Top Sponsored Video of the Week Anyway

Fans of social video (which I hope includes all readers of this post) may be aware that two of the biggest names on YouTube stepped off the platform and into the boxing ring last week. Well, this isn’t KSI’s first rodeo as he’s fought a fellow YouTuber before, but some particularly bad blood between the UK creator and Logan Paul led the two to decide to duke it out in an actual real-life boxing match. The event took place on August 25 at the Manchester Arena, but the hype has been going on for months – right up until the very last minute. While the fight’s official YouTube stream attracted an impressive 5M viewers, in the two days around the fight, Tubular can confirm more than 5,600 YouTube channels uploaded over 7K videos with the search terms “KSI” and “Logan Paul”, generating a staggering 104M views. The match was declared a draw but KSI added to his purse (estimated to be $11M between the two creators) by partnering with UK protein powder brand Myprotein to claim the top sponsored video of the week. The ‘My Final Boxing Session‘ upload generated a V3 of 4.8M sponsored YouTube views, almost matching (see what I did there) the live event itself. Between the 19th and 25th of August 2018, 3,900 brands sponsored 7,442 videos that were directly uploaded to brand partners channels and pages on YouTube and Facebook. As the industry leader, Tubular publishes a weekly leaderboard on who’s winning in the world of sponsored video. Our DealMaker product tracks thousands of sponsored video campaigns from global brands and media companies. Top 10 Global Sponsored Videos Leaderboard Want to Know More About Sponsored Video?
