Last month, the top ten most-viewed channels and creators generated just over 11.8 billion total views; five of these channels maintained their same rankings from September, as well. Out of all 100 creators, seven of them increased rankings by at least 100 positions, with +1519 being the highest jump in ranking across these creators. Here’s what we found: Views on Entertainment Content Were Diversified in October Normally when we release our leaderboards every month, we expect to see the majority of the top 100 channels hailing from the entertainment genre, which is one of the most popular on YouTube. And while this was definitely the case for October’s leaderboard, as well, it seemed viewers were interested in a lot of different sub-genres of entertainment last month. While this sounds like just another children’s channel, it’s really the official channel of a cartoon adventure game, and it increased its ranking by 125 spots with almost 366 million views. What’s so unique about this accomplishment, however, is that Toon Blast only has ten videos on its YouTube channel, all of which were uploaded in July and are actually advertisements for the game, featuring Ryan Reynolds playing the game as he ignores or doesn’t show interest in everything else around him. What this means is all those 366 million views from October were generated on old videos, likely due to increased downloads and word-of-mouth popularity of the game! SuperToyzCollector jumped +123 positions thanks to almost 549 million views, and Les Boys TV2 moved up 262 spots due to more than 452 million views. Another popular genre on YouTube, Indian Bollywood and entertainment clips, also saw upward movement in October, with Filmi Jankhar being the most notable standout in this category; this channel increased its position by a solid 546 spots!
