It’s time to take a look at the newest Tubular Leaderboard stats to see which creators, brands, and publishers on YouTube earned the most views in May 2017. Top YouTube Channels May 2017 May Was a Great Month for Some Popular Musicians Audiences around the world revealed their interest in music during the month of May with three of the top ten most-watched channels hailing from musicians or artists. For starters, Ed Sheeran has remained on May’s Most-Watched YouTube Channels Leaderboard, but this time bumping up one spot to claim the third position. Sheeran also improved his view count from around 749 million to just over 750 million total views for the month of May. The musician saw an incredible increase in YouTube views, moving from 580 million in April to almost 698 million in May, a difference of 118 million views. Last but not least, Katy Perry landed on May’s Leaderboard in the 9th position with almost 539 million views. Perry also boasted the highest average first 30-day view count (V30) for May’s top ten creators at almost 29 million views per video. International Music Brands Earned Notable Stats, Impressive Views Out of the remaining seven spots on May’s Leaderboard for most-watched YouTube channels, three were also music brands, meaning six out of the ten channels on May’s Leaderboard were tune-related. In April, Canal claimed an ER30 of 1.7x, but in May, that number increased to 2.0x, making it the highest ER30 out of all the creators and publishers on this month’s chart. May Was a Great Month for Some Popular Musicians

Audiences around the world revealed their interest in music during the month of May with three of the top ten most-watched channels hailing from musicians or artists. Two of them have been on the Leaderboards recently, and the third jumped a whopping eleven positions to land at #9.

For starters, Ed Sheeran has remained on May’s Most-Watched YouTube Channels Leaderboard, but this time bumping up one spot to claim the third position. Sheeran also improved his view count from around 749 million to just over 750 million total views for the month of May. With a still-strong first 30-day average engagement rate (ER30) of 1.3x, Sheeran’s success is likely a holdover from the release of his new album Divide in March, with one of the album’s songs in particular (“Galway Girl”) being released in music video format on Sheeran’s channel in early May. It also helps Sheeran appeared on James Corden’s Late Late Show a couple weeks ago to perform in the show’s famous Carpool Karaoke segment.
